Public speaking tops my list of least favorite things to do (it might be second to swimming with sharks). I have been in multiple public speaking classes and have given a couple of speeches in my time, but everytime I get up to speek I feel the same onslaught of emotions. I get butterflies and then I stand up and say the first word and start to ramble. I am a very good rambler...I talk and talk and forget what I am supposed to talk about something.
That being said this speech was not that bad and the exercises done before the speeches started were actually quite helpful. Everyone in the class did really well and addressed topics that I didnt think of but are definetly issues on campus. They were entertaining and educational

I don't like public speaking either. I took comm 250 last semester and I actually think it helped. No one in my class liked public speaking so we all just learned to shrug it off and it became much more routine and not a big deal. Like he said in class everyone is rooting for you up there. If someone stubles on a word or forgets what they have to say inside im hoping they'll remember it otherwise it just becomes an awkward situation for everyone. I think everyone in the class can understand what you're feeling at least to a certain degree.
